§ 7-1. Authority

This chapter is adopted in accordance with G.L. 1956, § 45-24.1-1, as amended, which:

(1) Declares the preservation of structures of historic and architectural value to be a public purpose; and

(2) Authorizes historic district zoning and the creation of a historic district commission for that purpose in any city or town.
